Philae Comet Lander Makes Radio Contact In June 2015 After 7 Months

According to official reports, the Philae lander has reestablished radio contact with the Rosetta Mission Team on June 13th, and June 19th 2015. The signal was received on Friday June 19th at the Goldstone antenna in California. For people following the Rosetta mission closely there remains the question of why hasn't the Rosetta team released any photographs of Philae's current position on Comet 67P? The taxpayers of Europe who funded the $1.3 Billion mission should be demanding to see all photographs that have been received by the Rosetta spacecraft. The whole mission wouldn't be possible if the European member countries of ESA had not funded it. So, where are the photographs of Philae's current location taken by the Rosetta spacecraft, with its exceedingly powerful cameras?

It seems likely that the Rosetta Mission team has collected such photographs from the Rosetta spacecraft during some of its flybys because they claim to know that Philae is in the shadow of a cliff and laying on its side. It is unknown whether Philae has the robotic ability to right its position. The problem with it being on its side is that an array of solar panels on one side of its washing machine sized and shaped body is facing the ground and not able to absorb sunshine to power the Philae lander.

We considered in an earlier article (Sp19) that it was possible Philae the comet lander had come loose from the surface of the comet due to the comet's lack of significant gravity and the fact that no photographs of its current position had been released. We will be satisfied when Rosetta can do a fly by and share its photograph proving that the Philae lander is on the comet, and in the shadow of a cliff or on its side.

The duck shaped comet which the Philae lander came to a bouncing landing on on November 12th, 2014 is like an island twirling sideways through space. It's two lobes rotate on an axis in a horizontal motion. The Comet orbits the Sun every 6.4 years and the comet revolves on its axis every 12.5 hours. This is a slow rotation for such a small body compared to Earth's rotation on its axis of once every 24 hours. While modern science does not claim gravity is linked to rotation of the body, we hypothesize that the slowness of its rotation on its axis is part of the reason for its lack of gravity.




Mainstream Science Still Claims a Comet is an Icy Body Despite Photos to the Contrary

Statements being made about the Comet 67P still claim that it is an icy body despite the absence of ice confirmed through hundreds of photographs taken by Rosetta spacecraft during flybys of the comet. Scientists appear unready to let the icy comet myth die. For those people who can identify contradictory evidence, i.e., what is being said and what is being shown, there is an alternative explanation for the lack of ice on the comet.
