Mourning the loss of trees

Andi Boggs | April 27, 2017

When half a century year old trees which have provided shade and scenery for generations are cut down, a piece of history is lost.
In the city where I live I have noticed that there isn’t respect for great old trees, and they are cut down with impunity by city workers.
These long standing trees that once lined the main street in town and gave the city character are gone now from historic intersections. When nature is removed from a place a certain quality of life for the people is also removed.
It’s a terrible shame and it makes me realize how easily history is destroyed, erased and made to be forgotten. This history isn’t just trees but hills, structures, inventions, species, and more.
